Hi, has anybody tried connecting a Mac Mini to a standard LCD tv via vga or dvi cable? I was wondering what the resolution might look like on my 32" LCD.

My kitchen computer consists of a Mac Mini (1.5 ghz + Superdrive) VGA connected to a wall-mounted Samsung 17" (LT-P1795W). Works and looks great!

I wonder, on 32" . I don't think the Graphics Card in the Mac Mini will natively support a 32" size screen, but since OSX supports widescreen resoltions (opposed to my stupid windows box), you should get a nice result at 1280x1024 already. I have a 26" Philips LCD and run windows on it at 1024x768 and it looks really fine, not too big.

We'll have to wait for Leopard till OSX becomes resolution-independent.

The highest resolution LCD TV on the market is going to be a 1920x1080, which can be run by a mini. Its not the size of the LCD that matters, its the native resolution.

yogi, whats is the model of your LCD TV? I know of certain Phillips models which only support 1024x768 for their VGA input, it might not be your PC holding you back.

I have a panasonic 50 inch rear projection LCD, that my mini is hooked up to, and it looks awesome. I only set the resolution to 1024x768, since that is fine for me.

I hooked up my mini to a 42" Sony LCD and it looked AMAZING. Resolution was something much greater than 1024 x 768, I just don't remember exactly what it was. Maybe 1280x1024 or 1680x1050, I'm not sure. Either way, picture was excellent, even using a VGA cable (The TV only takes HDMI, and my HD Tivo is already using that port).

Tried using mu PowerBook last night on the tv, the results were absolutely great. I'll be waiting a few more months till hopefully an Intel version comes out or pick up a g4 really cheap.
