If I refresh a forum page (or reload it) the page reloads in a couple of seconds but doesn't return to the same position I was in previously until about 6 or 7 seconds has elapsed then it suddenly jumps to where it was.
Is this behaviour likely to be a setting I've missed or software not installed? Possibly my internet connection (though it doesn't happen on the Windows laptop).

Laptop is brand new today.

Thanks for any suggestions :[

Hmm other forum sites seem ok. Is there anything different about this one?
Could it be something to do with retina-ready sites? Is this one?
I'm using Safari.

Is it Flash intensive some sites give you a choice between Flash and H.264 but lags upon switching and new Mac's do not come with Flash installed you have to do it.

I have installed flash in an effort to cure it but it didn't, sadly.
It's this site that does it - others seem to be normal.

You could try a different DNS.

It's definitely just this site that has this delay. Other forums are fine. What's different here I wonder.
On reloading a page it takes 3 or 4 seconds for the page to appear and then another 5 or 6 seconds for the page to return to the same point it was at previously, e.g. half way down the thread list.
I've rebooted/reset my router and checked everything else I can think of but it's still there :(
It's not a nightmare, just an annoyance.

Anybody got any ideas?

I lately have had some delay like that here at Mac Forums. Lets see what others say. Here it could be my DSL as I am not at home and on slow DSL while staying with friends. I notice it here mostly.

Thanks for the confirmation fremaochris. Maybe I can stop looking for a cause now :)
