NFS server?

Hi, I thought this would be easy... but apparently not.

I want to set up an NFS server on my MBP Mountain Lion... basically I want this to provide me with some NFS experience using my vSphere lab in Fusion...

I obviously got hold of an old blog that said to setup my exports file but then when it comes to staring portmapper and mountd these are not on my system as far as I can tell, so how do I go about setting up an NFS daemon with out them?

that did the trick, I had already done the exports file, but stupidly typed the path wrong :-(
so once I got that right and HUPed nfsd, all is well.
