I just bought a used 2011 13" MBP with 234 battery cycles and 83% health. Current capacity is 4764mAh :Coconut Battery results.
Is this normal? I thought the newer models are rated at 1000 cycles/ 80%.
Thanks in advance.

I dunno, but my 2012 13" has 149 cycles with 93% design capacity remaining, and the battery has NEVER lasted more than 4 hours - if that helps you any. I've only been using it for 6 months too.

Hi,
Sometimes it's just a matter of living with what you have. You don't know the previous owner's charge regime..so the best thing I can suggest is that you calibrate the battery as per this link Apple Portables: Calibrating your computer's battery for best performance and then start from there.

The % health figures can be slightly misleading, capacity drops as part of cycling but most manufacturers tend to overstate the capacity..the reality is that a new battery can enter the marketplace at considerably less than 100%. One study done with Li-ion smartphone batteries showed starting capacities at between 88 and 94% with the capacity dropping to 73-84% after 250 full discharge cycles *

From what I see there is nothing unusual about your battery's health.
