Hi,

I shall keep looking around with Google, but for now ... is there any support for ffmpeg that's easy to follow ? From an .avi or two so far, there is a missing Header (mp3 / audio), or the info (using Subler) for the 'Audio Track' shows as "unknown". And the '-vcodec copy' to an '.mp4' runs jumpy with QuickTime but not VLC ?

I'm using Snow Leopard, so if u know a thing or two about ffmpeg u will know how difficult it is to get running in the first place ! ;-p

My main aim is no "Transcoding" :)

If you are going from avi to mp4, you are transcoding.

You might be better off using something like HandBrake. For one, HandBrake on Mac uses Core Audio to transcode the audio to AAC, whereas ffmpeg uses FAAC, which by their own admission is an inferior encoder.

Thanks for the replies.

I have been able to Demux an "AAC" audio track from an '.mp4' file with ffmpeg to an '.aac' file and works fine, but having some trouble with video.
