Do any iPhones do a 2 way sync?

Hi,

I have an old iPhone 3 and my MacBook Pro syncs (with the USB cable) only in one direction, MacBook to iPhone. I'm running the latest versions of iPhone and iTunes.

Anything entered directly into the iPhone doesn't appear on the MacBook after a sync.

Do newer iPhones sync both ways?

Sorry to have bothered you all with my message, now for the first time if I create an entry in Notes, iCal and Address book it does sync to my Mac !

I've just tested an entry on all 3 and it works, sorry again, I must be going around the bend.
