Hey guys,

I recently bought a MBP. I live in the UK but bought the MBP while visiting Germany. Now I plan to buy a UK MagSafe power adapter in order to charge it over here. What I've been wondering though - will the difference in voltage mess with it or will it not affect the battery performance? I'd be more than grateful if anyone could help me out. Thanks!

The MagSafe adapter converts AC power to DC power. Voltage, as you rightly noted, varies from country to country, but the DC voltage is the same. So, in essence, picking up the right MagSafe adapter for your country should provide the same DC power your MacBook Pro needs.

The power adapter is the same world wide, it functions over a wide range of international mains voltages. The difference is the duckhead and the mains plug. Rather than buy another simply cut off the European mains plug and wire on a UK 13A plug and fit with a 3A fuse.
