I have found time machine on its own to be inadequate. I would like to buy a full feature backup program. I have used Retrospect in the past and have been satisfied. Any recommendations?

Thanks for taking the time to look at this!

My recommendation is Carbon Copy Cloner. Go to their website and read up on it before buying. LINK

My advice is this ..... before you jump to the solution space ( and look for a piece of software ) have a look at the problem space and begin by defining what your backup strategy is.
When that is done, think about a possible solution.
Time Machine in combination with a cloning tools like CCC or SuperDuper! is what most people use.

SuperDuper for me with the registered version doing a weekly Smart Backup in five minutes. Only downside is no Recovery copied, but with ML on a USB thumb drive that solves that problem.

Member McBie has some good advice but I'm with the OP on this one. As much as i have tried to like what ™ does, it really doesn't do what i want and i really don't like the way the UI is and find it difficult at times to navigate it (yes dunce in the corner)
For me i have SuperDuper registered version as well and works well for me.

A vote for Carbon Copy Cloner here, though McBie is right.
