Dear all,

I am so befuddled that I'm not sure I will ask this question correctly. This year I got a new iMac (I had one right before) and used the iCloud for the first time. I believed that I created one particular ID, I wrote down the data to that ID and I'm pretty sure I saved hundreds of photos in the cloud via iPhoto's backup option.

Now, that ID was danielgodoylopes. However, now I try that ID and iCloud says my ID has to be an email address. When I go to Apple ID I discover I have 4 different IDs' - one with my yahoo email address, one danielgodoylopes, one danielgodoy and one danielbrasilia. I actually updated all of these over the last half hour with new passwords, but iCloud still refuses to let me access it.

What's wrong with me? What's wrong with iCloud? All those Apple ID's exist - I went through the whole process of changing passwords, but iCloud just doesn't accept any.

Thanks to anyone who can deliver me from my EXTREME frustration.
Daniel.

Your Mac's Specs
15" MBP '06 2.33 C2D 4GB 10.7; 13" MBA '14 1.8 i7 8GB 10.11; 21" iMac '13 2.9 i5 8GB 10.11; 6S
Not sure what those other 3 happen to be unless maybe iCloud aliases / email addresses you've created.
iCloud does permit you to create 3 alias email accounts.

Your Apple ID is what you should be using to login to everything.
Your Apple ID will be the one that is an email address - so that should be the "@yahoo" one.

Open iTunes - on the Menu bar at the top got to 'Store' - 'View my Apple ID'.
Use that login everywhere.

Bobtomay,

Thank you for your feedback! Sorry for taking long to reply, but I had a trip that extended beyond original planning and that took me away from my iMac. After trying what you suggested and noticing that, once more, my apple ID situation is confusing I talked to someone at Apple Support (actually talking to them now - being transferred to talk to security specialists) and discovered that I had created an AppleID years ago on my now basically inactive hotmail account and that all the IDs created afterwards actually ended up in nothing - so I lost pictures that I thought I had saved (well, many of them I did put on pen drives - just in case... luckily). I hope the security guys can wipe my slate clean and I can start from scratch with just one ID and saving all the pictures and other data in the iCloud once and for all.

Cheers,
Daniel
