After using Microsoft's FrontPage for many years and now switching to Mac, I am ready to use a web building program designed to run on the Mac.

I would like to avoid using Parallels or some similar program.

I would like a Mac-based program.

Does anyone know of a good one?

Thank you.

How about iWeb which should already be on your Mac? Since you didn't tell us which Mac you have or what version of OS X it's running, that's all I can suggest.

Thank you for helping me make my question answerable. :[

I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard, V 10.6.8.

I use the following features:

-- Forms to build surveys;

-- Webbots (macros) to build copyright pages;

-- Tables to build large matrices.

OK, that's good. Yes, iWeb should do all that you need. I haven't used FrontPage for years so I can't really help you compare the two. But iWeb is easy enough to use and there are some tutorials on the net that you can watch that will help. Here's one to get you started: LINK

Thank you, RJweb.

I tried DW 4 and found it was not for me. But I appreciate your comment.

Honestly, hand-coding has always been my preferred style. Might want to use an IDE -- I use NetBeans religiously -- or at the very least a text editor that does context highlighting, such as TextWrangler.
