I know MAC's are supposed so easy a Caveman can use it, so I must be even dumber. I just imported 700+ photo's from my daughters wedding into iPhoto on my iMAC but for the life of me I can't figure out how to copy them to my iPAD.

Am leaving on Sat to visit my wife's folks and we want to show them the photo's.

Thanks in advance.

Check out the Apple Photo Stream FAQ. LINK That should provide you with all the info you need to get your photos from the iMac to your iPad.

Also, if your in-laws have a computer, you can always copy the wedding photos to several DVDs and carry them with you. (Just as a backup, of course. :) )

Also, when you sync your iPad to your Mac, clck on the Photos Tab in the Sync Window and then select Sync Photos from iPhoto. You can specify what you want to sync (either all or a subset).

Thanks for quick replies. Since I have SL I don't have iCloud. So I'll try RavingMac's suggestions. In the mean time I have e-mailed a few of the photo's to my self.

The iBook Store has a free iPad User Guide. It isn't all that great, but better than nothing. Starting on page 39 it talks about iTunes Sync, including Photos,

I have the new iTunes 11 and when I mount my iPAD I don't see any way to sync my photo's as you suggest.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Chas for the pictorial.

I would add that the Missing Manual series are good references, that and the online tutorials from Apple.

iTunes, iPhoto, Preview etc have a lot of power and capability that often goes unused because people are unaware of all they can do.

Chas,

Thanks for the reply. Turns out I had the wrong view in iTunes. Once I switched on the side bar I was able to figure out what your pictorial was displaying. I transferred about 700 photo's in a few minutes to my iPAD.

Thanks so much for your patience and help.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

And One More Thing..... I just bought my wife her very own iPAD since she was using mine all the time.

Our poor 27" inch iMAC just sits for weeks on end now waiting for us to turn it on and look for updates. But I am using it now to post this and give it some love. But the iPAD has really changed how we use the "big box" PC.

Just the opposite here. The iPad 3 is gathering dust while the iMac gets used every day. The only time the iPad really gets any use is when we're away from the home office.

Aaah! ;P
But you are actually doing real work, whereas my Apple devices are mostly for entertainment.
