So I'm at home for winter break from college and my family got a new router. It now has two accounts a regular and a guest account, for some reason my laptop will only conect to the guest account and not to the regular account. On the regular account it gets stuck on self-assigned IP every time. My ipod and all other devices (including other macbooks) all connect just fine to the normal account. Does anyone know how to fix it, or what I am doing wrong? (We've already tried restarting the router and restaring my macbook).

make sure the default gateway setting in your computer reflects the router. you could always try to set a static IP from their router.

go into network settings. select airport then click advanced. select the guest network and click the minus button. then try to connect to the non-guest network.
