Hi,

Is it best to keep a MBP plugged into the wall all the time so not to make use of the battery or does this actually damage the battery. I seem to get a different answer from whoever I talk to.

Some say keep it plugged in and the battery doesn't get used. Others say if you keep it plugged in it constantly over charges the battery and wears it out quicker.

Hi Nick,

Thanks. I must say im not great at this stuff.

I read your link and am non the wiser. So, I charge it up then remove the charger even though I am at home 75% of the time and it would be no prob to leave plugged in?

I used to have an old IBM laptop where you could remove the battery altogether and just use the wall outlet without risking anything.

Im guessing there is no way to use a MBP without a battery fitted?
