I am shopping for a MacBook Air and am leaning toward the 256GB version as I am a business professional and expect I'll want to have plenty of memory. However, I have heard a rumor that the 256GB version results in a lot lower battery life than the 128GB version. Can anyone shed any light on this topic??

You're confusing "memory" with "hard drive space". The Air you're thinking of purchasing can be fitted with a larger SSD (solid state drive) of 256 GB for an extra cost. Make sure you purchase the Air with as much memory as you can afford as that can not be upgraded later on. I recommend buying 8 GB of memory. And to answer your question... it will not impact battery usage.

I have a new 13" Air with 256, and I have been surprised at how fast the charge % drops. Not as fast as the two-year-old 15" MBP it replace, but faster that I anticipated, based on what I had read.

And a very nice looking B-26, chscag! Any information on the provenance?

He was referring to the aircraft that I have showing as my avatar. It's a B-26D Douglas Invader. :)
