iMac g5's are 10/100/1000 Ethernet. Whatever or whoever is saying the iMac G5 2Ghz machine only has a 10Base-T port is wrong.

What or who is telling you this?

The port on the Mac has nothing to do with the internet speed.

The first 2 revision iMac G5's (Pre iSight) are only 10/100
The iMac will automatically pick the maximum speed. If you are using less than a Cat5 cable you will not get a 100/1000mbit connection, only a 10

My isp has a new broadband speed increase for $10 a month extra up to 50 mb dl and 2 mb upload. When it checks your hardware over the internet it says i need to increase to 100 base t port.I have a cable modem hooked into a netgear router then into Phonex power line hubs. All with cat6 Maybe they mean the cable modem?

Phonex power line is your problem. The maximum bandwidth through a phoneline is 10mbps, so you are really bottlenecking your setup through that
