I know right? Updates are starting to get predictable and the leaks aren't really helping in the surprise factor. The only real surprise this year was the iPad 4.

I think most people assume this will happen. Releasing the iPad Mini without Retina is just a sales ploy to get people to buy both versions.
Sadly, it will probably work as well - although I am very happy with my new iPad Mini
Not sure if I will bother to replace it when the Retina version is released.

I found the same thing after holding the mini in the Apple store then walking to the next table and picking up an iPad. Never thought my iPad felt all the heavy!

Weight is why I quit using the iPad in favor of the Kindle Fire and my MBA a long time ago.
Just sold my iPad yesterday, so I may have to go look at the mini while I have money now.
