I'm pretty happy with Apple Maps for the UK destinations I've used it on. Storm in a teacup for my particular map use.

However, Google Maps is more comprehensive and I'd argue, at this point, has broader appeal at the moment.
It's on the UK app store now

I got it yesterday and while on a driving trip back from from a business visit, I decided to just play around with the maps to gauge the time to get back home..and I get the directions and hit the "Start" button expecting to do the manual cycling of each portion of the directions like in the previous versions of the app that came bundled in iOS and color me surprised when it began to give me turn-by-turn directions on my iPhone 4 with active tracking of my location..

Awesome update indeed! :)

It appears they have only released the iPhone version. I tried looking for it in the iPad section of the App store and it's not there. I hope they're also planning on releasing it for the iPad, unless iPhone version also works for the iPad. Can anyone confirm that? (I suppose I should download it and give it a try.)

In the description on the store it said iPad so it should work.

It works on the iPad but doesn't look as good cause it's just blown up. Haven't had a chance to test it out yet. I did download it though.

On mine it only works by using the x2 option - just like any other iPhone-only App.

Disappointing. Hope they release a Universal version soon.
