Download YouTube videos to use in FCE

Is it possible to download a video from youtube, convert it and then use it in Final Cut Express?
I have downloaded MacTubes and can get a video onto my desk top but how do I get it into final cut express??

Yes it is possible, however if it isn't your own footage it is illegal (unless you have permission). There are youtube to mp4 converters online, and are pretty easy to find.
Make sure you select the mp4 option. Then after you download it I assume you can just import it into FCP.

You'll want to convert any mp4, which is a final delivery format, into an editable format like Apple ProRes or DV. You can download MPEG Streamclip for free which will do this for you.
