Hi, i have a 500gb hard drive with 2 partitions on exfat format, i use one partition for time machine and the other for files, when i conect it, disk utility detects it as unmounted.
This happened to me before, but the time machine one showed up the file one no.

Please Help!! This is urgent i have a presentation in there that i need to present (on windows so im not sure if it will work) and i need it tomorrow.
I have a mac but im going to present it on windows.

Time Machine will not work with a drive formatted to FAT or exFAT. It only works with drives formatted to the Mac OS Journaled file system. (HFS+)

The presentation is saved, i used remo recover to recover files from the hard drive but i still want to be able to mount it (mounting it on disk utility gives me an error), i have a huge amount of files in there and yesterday the time machine partition showed up for 5min but then went. And i realised that the partition for files is exfat the timemachine one is mac os Journaled.

I have had occasions where a pen/USB drive formatted for windows, wouldn't work on a windows PC. If it's not too late, try formatting the drive on the PC then transfer the file to it from your Mac. See if that works.
