Mac is running slow

Hello I recently updated my operating software to OS X Version 10.7.5 but my MacBook is running so SLOW! Is there anything that I can do to make it faster? Like a defrag on a windows pc?

Since OS 10.7.5 was primarily available thru the Mac App Store (and hasn't been available for the past 4+ months)…how did you "recently" perform this upgrade to 10.7.5?

As far as the slow computer…defragging like you would on a Windows computer is probably not the problem or the first thing to do. Read some of the links in my signature for some things to try.:)
