Not really a big deal, but I noticed when I checked my Log on Disk Utility, Hit Clear, and left everything was fine and dandy. But I checked it again the next day and the Log was still full of stuff I did months ago. Weird, would you say not?

Don't even have to wait until the next day. That does not "delete" the log. You can close it and open it right back up and the log will still be there. It only clears the display. You can then leave the display open while running another operation and see the log of only the current operation.
