I did an update for my Apple TV as suggested, but it killed the device. Can't get it to turn on. The update closed as normal, but then the light went off and nothing seems to resurrect it. :( Any ideas?

Hook it up to iTunes via the Micro USB and restore the device and start from scratch.

Follow the instructions here.

Did you try connecting the mini USB to the apple TV under the HDMI port then connect to your MBP 's USB and with iTunes open restore the ATV?
TattoedMac beat me to the punch.

it worked---- the cable cost me $20, but it was easy to restore Thanks for the link to the correct apple support page. I couldn't find that page when I searched, the support links all pointed to taking it to an apple store for a technician to deal with. Thanks!
