missing folders

Which email provider are you using (gmail, yahoo,...)? Have you checked online to see if they are still there? Have you checked the Trash bin to see if maybe they were accidentally deleted?

I am missing a couple of folders in Mail where I had saved important emails. I did not erase them. What happened and can I recover them?

Bellsouth mail through Yahoo and they are not there either.
I set up the separate folders on Mac Mail
