I recently upgraded my RAM on my:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP51.007E.B06
I bought the 8GB from Amazon due to prime: Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 Memory Module (CT2CP51264BC1339)
Amazon.com: Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 Memory Module (CT2CP51264BC1339): Computers & Accessories
For some reason the RAM crashes the MBP. It happened numerous times. I reinstalled the 4GB RAM and the problem is no longer there. So my question is, is the RAM I bought off amazon any different than the ones that recommended off OWC?
MacBook, MacBook Pro
I have the correct Boot ROM version listed on the OWC site and I'm running 10.8.2. So I believe my MBP can run 8GB of RAM, why doesn't it work?
Thank you in advance for your insight.
