Odd pricing of the iMac G5's??

I checked out Apple's website today, and they have the "older" version 2.1GHz priced at $1,700. I thought they would drop the price, based on the introduction of the intel core duo, which is also priced at $1,700....

Just found that somewhat odd...

Nope, still selling at the same cost. I was surprised as well, but they're doing the same with the PowerBook G4.

I don't see how you could look at stuff that says '2x Faster' for the Core Duo models, then buy a G5.

That is one thing I love to look at. I mean, they try tell me I can get one for the same price that is 2+ times faster and expect me to buy the old one.

i am sure there is still a very strong market for the g5's as well as the new duo's, so why should they change the pricing for a system that is highly sought after?

A lot of people are going to stick with the G5 for a while. Rosetta?!!

I seem to recall a time when Steve told us that G5 was the fastest thing in existence. Now this CoreDuo is super duper thing Steve wants you to believe in. Don't drink the Kool-Aid all the time.....
