mail application 10.6.8 does not support 10.6.7

ever since i upgraded to 10.6.8, i can no longer access to my emails saved on my external from 10.6.7 mail app.

this is quite bad since it includes my work email too, and work email doesnt save mails older than 30 days on the server. so i have to find a way to get these mails back.

any suggestions?

Are you using Time Machine or another backup program? Also, why can't you manually access the saved email messages on the external hard drive?

no timemachine, oldschool backup

mail app wont open, the emails are under the mail app

The old Mail app likely won't open.

You should be able to find your mails in your users home folder / Library / Mail

If your backup is a bootable clone backup, you might be able to use Migration Assistant to bring the old emails across.
