Recover deleted folders on a macbook pro

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you could give me a hand...ive accidently deleted an important folder from my desktop...basically it was mixed with some pics i wanted to erase so it all went together (last thursday) and ive only noticed yesterday.
Ive tryed researching online for softwares but so far i havent found any free ones, and the ones ive tryed dont seem to find my folder.
Can anyone help me please?????

1. Too late now, but this is YET ANOTHER reason I strongly recommend people not leave crud all over their desktop.

2. Can't you just open Time Machine and recover it back from before whenever you deleted it? If you haven't been using TM, congrats this is WHY we use it. Smack yourself on the head and set up Time Machine so this doesn't happen again.
