Awesome.. Kind of about time. But I hope for their sake the 27" ones are out in time for christmas or their gonna loose sales.

The 27" models may or may not be released in time for Xmas according to the rumor mill. However, I agree that Apple will likely try to get them in stores before the shopping season is over.

Look at the pics in the link, the one showing its profile. It really bulges out a lot in the back. I'm looking at mine and it seems thinner overall (screen to bulge), except of course the edges on the new one are svelte. It really is a work of art.

edit: specs say it's 8" deep.
