Hi, this problem is driving me crazy. I paid for a the latest version of Toast Titanium 11 Pro for my Early 2008 Mac Pro 8 core with OS X 10.8.2. The download went smoothly, as did the install. But when I go to run it, I get the lovely spinning wheel, and must Force Quit the app (shows as Not Responding).

The Roxio and Corel support pages and user forums were of no help. I have wasted many hours trying to re-install it and also to install updates.

I ran an earlier version of Toast on a Mac Mini and it was awesome. This is very frustrating! :Shouting:

Thanks!

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Does it install at all? If not sounds like Gatekeeper is keeping it out. Go into System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. Unlock the padlock using your admin password and then select "anywhere" and try again.

If successful you can go back in and reset Gatekeeper.

Try using it in a different account. I have it on my MacBook, but it constantly crashes in my main account, but works fine in another.

It did install just fine. It just won't run. Comes up as "not responding" in Force Quit.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm logged in as administrator with no other accounts in existence. I just got this Mac Pro a couple weeks ago and am still setting things up. So I will create another account and try that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmmm, crashed again... after asking it to convert audio files. D'oh! :(

Back to the battles here.

I still have version 10 and it works fine, but then, I have Gatekeeper set to allow all programs to run. I see that Harry suggested this, but you didn't mention whether you had actually tried turning it off.

Oh, I thought that was just for the install. I had to do the ALT-click to get it to install past the gatekeeper, then it installed. It's the getting it to run properly now I am having problems with. It likes to crash randomly then I have to Force Quit.

I'll play with it some more later, thanks for the help.

No luck, it's crashing seconds after loading in my other account the same as it did from my admin account. Can't get past the "not responding" crash message in Force Quit Applications. :(

It installed okay, just won't run.

Welcoming any suggestions.

Doesn't Roxio have direct user support (as opposed to community forums)? Given that it's never run properly, I think the onus should be on them to resolve this or provide a refund.

I'm sure they do, but I find it is often quicker and easier to get help from users, who usually have MUCH more knowledge and experience. It is really hard sometimes to get real tech support from the company that sold you the merchandise, so that will be my last resort. Sad, no? :\

Roxio Toast Titanium 11.1 (note the version number) works fine here on 10.8.2. Are you sure you're up-to-date?

Well, I am not sure of anything, really! O:) I just got this Mac a few weeks ago and trying to get stuff set up like I had before on my Mac Mini. I paid for the download last week, so it should be fresh and up to date. I ordered also the backup disk from Roxio, so maybe I will try re-installing from that when it shows up.

It's probably some small and stupid glitch that's in my way. If only I can find it!

Finally got some time to work on this.

Yes... with both optical drives disconnected, Toast launches fine! And I'm getting the 11.1 update as I type this.

So I need to play with cables and jumper settings. I don't see jumpers on the Blue Ray drive, only the Apple Superdrive. I think they both want to be master... This is going to be a problem.

Thanks everyone, I will keep plugging away. :)
