I recently upgraded my mac mini 1.83 Core duo and my Dad's Imac Core 2 duo from Leopard to Snow Leopard. It all worked fine for the mini, but for the imac the path from the sidebar Applications icon accesses old programmes - e.g. disk utility and safari. If I access Applications from the sidebar I get a message "this is an old version etc...you have the new one on your mac" If I access HD - applications all the new sofware is there.

I did the ugrade using the same flash drive. Neither mac has been modified or fiddled with.

Any ideas?

Thanks

John

Remove the old applications from the sidebar in Finder.

Then, if you want them on the sidebar in Finder, add the new ones.
