Apple TV with Ipad over wifi

Hi all

i have my Apple TV and Ipad set up in my room with my router 2 feet away but everytime i try and connect them through the router (for mirroring)the Ipad background shows up on the TV but then goes after 5 seconds and always happens.

When i connect them through my mobile phone it works perfectly, and i can what movies and everything.

Any ideas?

It would help if you listed the model of each and what iOS you are using along with the router model and make.
I will say that some iPads don't fair well on 5GHz radios mine is one of them it works better on 2.4GHz.
