I know that mac dont get as much spyware and adware/malware as a windows computer.

But Spybot had one nice feature that i liked. It would add sites that are unsafe to the hostfile,

so the sites are blocked. Is there an alternative to this? Or perhaps a site with a list of all sites that are "unsafe" for OSX ?

With respect, you are really taking the wrong approach to this "problem."

The correct approach, IMHO, is to not patronize dodgy/pirate/et al sites in the first place.

This makes it very easy to avoid "unsafe" sites.

A program that you might find of use is Little Snitch that allows you to block/allow traffic to specific sites and ports. You can forever allow safe applications/sites and forever block the opposite.

When initially installed, you will get a LOT of pop-ups as your computer has many apps/services that are constantly getting stuff from various sites. Once you properly black/whitelist these services, you can keep a tight control for every application or website you visit.

The beauty of this application is that if you visit a website that wants to access an unsafe site, your computer would ask your permission, if you don't recognize the site, blacklist it and the content won't load..
