I have tried to remove this program (using Sophos remove) but it leaves "Scan with Sophos" in the context menu.
How can I get rid of this?

Thanks

Hi chscag

sorry ,done that but Scan with sophos is still there in the context menu.
The program is uninstalled.
I have been here before many times and I am baffled.

If you used the Sophos uninstaller after attempting to just use drag and drop or some other app cleaner - I'd reinstall it, then run the uninstaller.

If you still had the full install of Sophos when you ran the uninstaller - try rebooting to see if it disappears.
Still there after a reboot, grab Onyx - need to download the one for your version of OS X. Head to the Automation tab - under the Rebuilding section, check off LaunchServices.

If rebuilding LaunchServices didn't take care of it, there is still something of Sophos installed. Can only suggest to reinstall it and try their uninstaller again. That doesn't do it, then I'd send an email off to Sophos tech support.

One place that should be able to remove that menu item - is in Library - Contextual Menu Items. Check inside that folder.
Look both in the root and in your users Library - have no clue which one it might be stored in.

But, if it's left that in place, would guess there are other things it has also left behind.
Hence, why trying the install / uninstall again.
