I have trawled the forums to see if I can find someone with a similar issue, and a solution, but so far to no avail, although I don't believe I am the first! I got a new MacBook Pro in April and from the start had the problem of the wifi connection dropping out. Actually, I don't think it is the wifi, that seems to be ok, but sometimes it happens a couple of times a day, other times, and more often, every 5 to 10 minutes, that the connection drops out. I go to Network diagnostics and it tells me the ISP has failed, i go through the whole assistance process, selecting the type of connection, name, etc, and then it will say (usually at the point that it asks if I use a cable to connect with) that a change in the network configuration was detected and then everything gets a green light and i click OK and I'm back online. So, easy enough to fix each time but UNBELIEVABLY annoying. Other computers on the same modem have no problem, and this has happened not only in my home but also in my sister's home (different countries, different ISP's). Sometimes it tells me Self-assigned IP, but not always. I have tried a variety of solutions that were posted on the forums, from deleting certain files in the library, to creating a new location, to updating the OS (hadn't done that for a while and had the most success with this one, 3 days of relatively no dropping out, but then back to the usual story). I am frustrated. To say the least. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if I have given all the information needed to make a suggestion, but if not, I will be happy to give any additional info if a solution seems possible. Thank you for reading!
