HI

Just looking a little bit of advice please. I have bought a new macbook air to replace my ageing old macbook. I have used the migration assistant (just the 9 hours) to transfer my information across but I now have 3 profiles when I start up (the 3rd comes from my old emac). This is obviously not really what I wanted to happen. Would I better deleting off the 2 profiles that came from my old macbook and using my back up to pull over my photos etc or is there a way that I can merge these 3 profiles into 1? Thanks

Merging the profiles will just get you into trouble. The mistake you made was creating a profile on the MacBook Air before you migrated. The first time you turned on the Air it asked you if you wanted to transfer data from another Mac.
At that point in time, respond yes, attach your Time Machine backup and everything including your profile will be transferred to the Air.

Just wipe the profiles off the Air and start over. But first, make sure you have all your old data intact using Time Machine or, you can use the Migration Assistant. Time Machine is easier, however. Also, make sure you only have one profile to transfer to the Air not two or three.

No. The one-user version refers to how many simultaneous installations you can have. In other words, you can't install it on more than one machine in your household (should you have more than one). You can, however, reinstall it on the same machine.

That said, deleting the account shouldn't uninstall the program.
