Mac OSX Systems upgrade

I have an iMac that is about 5 years old with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor; running OS 10.5.8. I just purchased some new software & it requires a minimum OS 10.6. I purchased Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and before I install it, what (if any) problems can I expect?

Subject to the disc being a full retail install nothing. A system disc from another computer will not install.

Thanks for the quick response. It is an original disk from an ebay seller. Still in the "shrink wrap" & he has an excellent reputation on ebay & guarantees the software.

As Harry stated, it has to be a retail disk. The Snow Leopard retail disk is easily distinguishable from the other type. The retail disk has a picture of the Snow Leopard on it and is white. Make sure you upgrade 10.6.3 to 10.6.8.

It's a free on line upgrade direct from Apple.

Fingers crossed as many online sellers specialize in selling the original system disc which will install only on that very model it came with.
