Like, private/company apps that get installed directly? I hear VW and other big companies do this, but I want to do it on a smaller scale :Smirk:

You can't, really. You still have to be a developer or business registered with Apple. There is a separate B2B channel for Apple to host custom apps that aren't available for sale in the App Store, but use that infrastructure to deploy apps.

What you want to do would require the iPhones be jailbroken.

This would be a good question to ask Apple before spending the money on a developer account, I don't know the answer. If you're a programmer who wants to build custom apps for business customers, I think the answer is yes.
