I'm looking on buying the mac mini $799 version.

I already own the 2009 version but looking at the details of the new model, I noticed I won't be able to connect my current monitor with it. The 2009 version is connected through a miniDVI port which apple took out of the current version.

So I want to buy a good, affordable hdmi connectable monitor with the new mini. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The new Mini has both the MiniDisplay Port and HDMI video outputs. All you would need is a MDP or HDMI to DVI adapter and cable and you can still use your present monitor. However, if you still wish to buy a newer monitor, I would look at what Dell has to offer. Their monitors are of very good quality and not expensive.
