problem with my Ipod classic 160 gb

My ipod Classic 160 gb is frozen and backlight not shutting off.
Can someone suggest a way to get it started. Have followed the
instructions on the apple site but failed have put the on off switch
and then held the menu and centre button for 10 secs too....but
what to do please...help I cannot do without my ipod

This helped in shutting it off my iPod back in the days, I put it in the freezer, and waited a day or so.
This will speed up the battery drain considerably.
Then it should start up again.
