Good day,

I would like to refer this problem that we have encountered while trying to run some steam games namely HL2, HL2 ep. 1, HL2 ep. 2, Portal, and TF2. I have already asked the steam forum about the said problem and their reply was to upgrade the video hardware on our mac but the problem is I am currently using a mac mini and the only replaceable part is the memory. What should i do?

Thank you for reading this question and i do hope you have an answer to the said question. :D

Get a newer machine that meets the minimum specs for the games you want to play?

Not much else anyone is going to be able to suggest without knowing which Mac you have and it's specs along with version of OS X you are using.

I'd go back to Steam support - at least Portal and HL2 list your video card as being supported.

If you've only asked the question in forums - submit a ticket to Steam support.

Thank you for your reply,
I have already submit a ticket to steam support concerning the problem but it says to update my video hardware which is impossible because of the fact that we have a mac mini.

Respond to their ticket that your video hardware meets the spec they list.

In fact, the games you mention specifically list your video card as being supported.
If they are not going to support that video card, they should remove it from the list and give you any money back you paid since they do in fact list that card.

Go take a look at the system requirements for Portal and HL2 - they both list the Intel HD3000 as being supported.
