Hi everyone,
My machine is a four year old 2.4GHz imac and the operating system is Snow Leopard. If another user has been using the machine and I then log in to my account the external speakers just stop working. I then have to unplug the speaker jack from the headphone socket and re-connect to get them working again.
Only my account seems to be affected and I have checked and double checked the sound settings in preferences to make sure that the problem isn't there.
I have tried using different speakers and the problem persists but if it's any help the current speakers are m-audio MV40's.
I was thinking about deleting my user account and starting again buy am hoping there will be a more straightforward solution to the problem. If anyone can help I would be really grateful.
Thanks.
