I have a Mac desktop that's about 4 years old and I think it might be starting to go. It performs perfectly fine but I recently started noticing the shadow of my desktop background lingering when I go to any type of solid colored page. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I love this machine and would hate for it to blow up on me.

What model of Mac desktop is it? It would be unusual for an LCD screen to exhibit this kind of behavior. But I suppose if you were using a Mac Mini with a CRT, it would be possible. Can you tell us a bit more about your hardware?

Not using a mac mini. I'm on an iMac and the screen is an LCD. Under graphics/display it says ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro I'm not sure what other details you'd need to know but happy to give them if you're more specific. Thanks~
