What to do with disk drive from dead macbook?

i have an Air and i would like to be able to use my old disk drive from my dead macbook core duo in my new Air. is the an adapter i can get to connect the drive through usb? hopefully i can still use this like i did my HD with a sata usb cable.

This is exactly what you can do with your old MacBook's HD.

Purchase a 2.5" SATA external hard drive case...install the MacBook HD into it...then plug it into your MacBook Air via USB cable.

thanks. i figured it was my "disk drive" wording that might have been confusing

damm that's pretty expensive, i was hoping it would be in the 5-10 range... the sata usb connection was less than 5 bucks after shipping, but still its better than an $80 super drive. just to copy a few dvds, i guess that prices is the same as 2 dvds so not too bad. hopefully my drive still works though.

hah ebay has them much cheaper :)

I only used that product/link as an example…so you would know that what you were looking for was available. Then you get to do the "shopping" for best price (as you already did).:)

Glad to hear you found something on e-Bay…how much was it (I may be interested in one)? Or at least help someone else looking for one in the future.:)
