I've just tried to reload my software after a HD replacement under warrantee.
Now I have an os install disc in the machine but the machine is not answering.
How can I eject this disc? Thanks in advance.

Two methods are:

1. Press the keyboard button with the "underlined triangle" symbol on it (usually in the upper right of the keyboard).
2. Reboot the computer while pressing & holding down on the mouse button until the disk ejects.

Hopefully the above will work and your DVD may just require cleaning.

If not, your optical drive may be shot.

If your hard drive was replaced under the Seagate 1TB replacement program you should have supplied your install DVD's when taking the iMac for repair. Whoever undertook the work should have installed an OS, and if they found the superdrive defective, quoted for replacement, a simple task while the iMac is apart.

Thanks to you both. The holding down the mouse did it.
