Hi
I have and iphone 3GS. I connected to itunes today and started a software update. It was doing its thing and then froze with an itunes logo on it seeming to direct me to connect to itunes which it was. I disconnected and reconnected and got the message in iTunes iphone in recovery mode detected this iphone must be restored to use with iTunes. I selected the restore option and again it seemed to do its thing but on completion I got the same message again iphone in recovery mode detected this iphone must be restored to use with iTunes. I restored again - same thing happened. Please help my iphone is my lifeline!

Leave it plugged in for a few hours to ensure the battery is fully charged, then try again. If it fails, then you may have to check with Apple to see if they can help.

Was this iPhone jailbroken or unlocked, by chance?
