Running OS 9.1 and I know how to hold the shift key and then click randomly on the files you want highlighted for moving deleting or whatever but is there a single shirtcut to select eg 10 files in a row without clicking on each of them while holding down the Shift key ? Dragging the mouse doesn't seem to work for me.

Thank you

Usually you can click on the first one and shift-click on the last one and all of them will be selected.

Yeah, just drag a box around the files, or if there's not too many, command-a ;then shift-click the ones you dont want selected.

Thanks everyone and sorry for the late followup. All suggestions work on OSX but not on OS 9.0/9.1.....

Dragging a selection rectangle around them is the only way I can find.
