Problems syncing with MobileMe through preferences

Hi:

I have icloud account, BUT when I try to sync my address book (et.al) with iCloud, I receive the following:

"Your MobileMe member name or password may be invalid. Please enter a different name or password."

I go via System Preferences to iCloud.
All very strange as I have been using my MobileMe account and new name since the change to iCloud.
I used to sync a lot when we had good wifi, but not a lot of late as we are now living on board a boat in Turkey.
Not sure if I have synced this computer since I bought it in Vancouver about a year ago.
I have also had different names prior to iCloud as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So with 190 views, and no comments, no wonder I can't figure it out. Any tips pleeeeease?
