Hi,
I have a time machine external hard disk, it suddenly went bad. I connected a new disk it also went bad after a while. I read somewhere that sometime changing the os to Mountain Lion causes this problem.
I now bought a new external disk, is there a special way of installing and working with it?
Thanks for your answer:

There is no way that Time Machine has caused your external drives to fail. You either had a run of bad luck or the drives are not defective. There is no special way to install an external hard drive for use by Time Machine. Just attach the drive and when it's mounted on your desktop, start Time Machine. Time Machine will do the rest....
