How much memory do you have installed and how much free hard drive space is available out of the total capacity of your hard drive? Also, what year model is your iMac?

Slow imac

My iMac OSX 10.7.5 is SLOW. Don't know what happened. Any suggestions to speed it up?

I have a 24" iMac, 2009. Available space on HD is 350 GB out of 1TB hard drive. I have 4 GB of memory, 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and iMac is slow. I have no antivirus installed but haven't tried Onyx clean up. Any suggestions to speed this iMac up? Don't know what has happened except I have 70,000 pictures in my iPhoto.

Well you have answered your own question. Consider getting an external hard drive and moving some of those photos out. And for all that 4GB is pretty small. Increase it up to 8GB.

35% for me is the magic number where I really start noticing my computers slowing down - doesn't matter which OS - I keep all of mine at 40% or greater free space.

Onyx would be a start.
More RAM would probably help.
At 35% free space, think you might be surprised how much iDefrag would help speed up your system also.

??? Same as you do any other application.

After you install it, open up your Applications folder and select it.
