I just had this happen, does anyone have any ideas. I really hope I don't have to replace the logic board. I've tried several drives, and currently I'm using the drive that was in the mac in my computer that I'm typing on, and it works fine. I also tried another known good drive and it wouldn't detect it either. Even when I did the boot from the internet it couldn't find the drives for even if you wanted to format it.

Thanks,

Try a PRAM reset first and if that doesn't work, also reset the SMC.

I tried using a live ubuntu disk and the drive wasn't detected when hooked up via usb as well. However the drive works on my father's mac mini. Then the screen started artifacting, so I guess the logic board is toast.
